French language immersion - 06/ 2025

Sharon, who loves the French language and culture, came to spend a week immersed in the language with our family in Lyon. Here are her impressions:

Sharon's immersion stay - June 2 to 8, 2025

Sharon's testimonial:

I spent a fabulous week of French language immersion with Hélène and her family in Lyon. She is a very talented French professor, a gourmet chef, and a fabulous tour guide.

Each morning after delicious fresh local pâtisseries and coffee we studied French for 3 hours. After a lunch break we toured Lyon—Hélène provided me with a bike and showed me many of Lyon’s charming sites including museums, parks, gardens and the famous trompe-œil murals. Dinner was amazing; she carefully planned every meal and catered to my food preferences and dietary restrictions.

I am eager to return next year and spend another week with Hélène this time in the Ardèche at her country home. Hélène is warm and welcoming and is a very caring and kind hostess.

My stay with Hélène was the highlight of my month in France and was the best learning experience of my trip. I highly recommend this experience for anyone who is interested in improving their French.
